Construction Site Stormwater Permits
Sites with five or more acres of land disturbance require a construction site storm water discharge permit. Approximately 500 construction sites are permitted annually. Construction site permits focus on the use of best managment practices for erosion and sediment control. After 2003, EPA Phase 2 regulations will require sites with one acre or more of land disturbance to obtain a permit.
