Most heavy and light industrial facilities require an industrial storm water discharge permit. The type of industry and level of potential contamination determine the permit level. (Tier 1, 2, 3.) Industrial permits focus on pollution prevention practices and strom water monitoring. Approximately 3500 facilities are currently permitted.
