THE LANDOWNER ASSESSMENT & PROJECT EVALUATION (LOAPE) PROGRAM

UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-EXTENSION COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND LIFE SCIENCES, UW-MADISON

 Identifying Appropriate Resource Issues . . .
by helping water quality program staff better understand the behaviors and actions that potentially impact water quality.

An important step in the analysis involves understanding how such behaviors occur within the context of a specific land and natural resource setting. This information is important for decisions associated with developing educational strategies for watersheds and targeted geographical areas. It is also useful as a measure of behaviors that exist before a project begins and how those behaviors change during the life of a water quality program or project.

Survey results illuminate specific resource management issues
 for project staff to address.

LOAPE monitors long-term trends in agricultural usage.

  • To gain an accurate understanding of individual behaviors and actions that are relative to water quality protection practices.

  • To determine the appropriate responses and solutions that will address specific water quality issues and problems.

LOAPE monitors long-term trends in manure management.
