|
Current Status: |
Active | |
Project Summary: |
This project will provide training on the principles of nutrient management for 15-20 farmers and help the farmer participants to develop their own nutrient management plans. The training would consist of three workshops. The first workshop would cover nitrogen management, the second would cover phosphorus and potassium management. The third would be an entire day and allow participants to come by at scheduled hours and receive individual help in writng their own plans. Prior to the workshops, all participants will have their soil tests taken. This program will focus on the Irish/Gill Creek Watershed. A mailing will be sent out to all farmers in this watershed, and followed up with a phone or personal contact. Farmers from outside the Irish/Gill Creek Watershed will be encouraged to participate also. The Dodge County Land Conservation Department and the NRCS will provide staff to help prepare conservation plans. |
