Nutrient Management: Farmer Certification

Project Summary:

 

In the first project year, 48 dairy farmers will learn to use the latest computerized nutrient management software to create and implement certifiable plans. Four six-hour workshops will focus on the roles phosphorus and nitrogen have in nutrient management. The workshops will be combined with onsite farm visits by Northcentral Technical College faculty, the Land Conservationists and the District Conservations from seven participating counties. The project will be administered by a nutrient management education specialist employed as a Farm Business Production Management (FBPM) faculty at Northcentral Technical College. The college will serve as a fiscal agent.
