Current Status: |
Active | |
Project Summary: |
The goal of the Nutrient Management Farmer Education Program is to enroll 12 farms that average about 250 crop acres per farm. The farms will be surveyed by the SWCD and NRCS staff using the Farm Practices Inventory to determine their current NM practices. In addition, a feed and manure analysis will be completed on participating farms as well as calibration of manure spreading equipment. Farm conservation plans will be updated as needed and new conservation plans will be developed for those farms without a plan. Soil testing will be required of each of the participating farming operations involved with the program. Follow up on-farm visits will be made with each participating farmer. |
