About Us
The Milwaukee River Basin Partnership is a voluntary coalition of businesses, non-profit groups, public agencies, educational institutions, 
organizations and individuals committed to restoring and sustaining the Milwaukee River Basin ecosystem. The group was formed in 1998 to promote citizen involvement and local decision-making in protecting the natural resources of the Basin while ensuring the economic viability of the area. Their goal is to combine efforts, leverage funding, promote stewardship, and educate the public about issues that effect the land and water we all need and enjoy.
Our mission is to assist those who reside or work within the watersheds of the Milwaukee, Menomonee, and Kinnickinnic Rivers initiate projects and exchange resource information to enable stewardship of land and water resources.
Partnership Goals
The following goals are the top five of a long list of goals identified and prioritized by the Milwaukee River Basin Land and Water Partners in January 2005. Achievement of these goals will be balanced with the rights of private landowners.
1. Promote and preserve a healthy and sustainable Milwaukee River Basin through education and on the ground projects
2. Promote a sense of place so that residents may connect with the Milwaukee River
3. Initiate, promote and participate in member projects
4. Exchange resources and information with partners and the people of the basin
5. Promote sound land use concepts
